Frequently asked questions
What is the Craniosacral Technique?
It is a non-invasive manual technique with roots in osteopathy, in the insights of Andrew Taylor Still and in William Garner Sutherland’s work on the movement of fluids. The practitioner works with a very light touch, of no more than a few grams, sensing the rhythms of the Primary Respiratory System and accompanying the body towards a spontaneous reorganisation.
Are there any prerequisites for enrolling?
No. The path is open both to those starting out in a holistic profession and to those already practising who are looking for a deeper approach. No prior healthcare training is required.
What is the difference between biomechanics and biodynamics?
They are two ways of working with the same system. The biomechanical approach focuses on assessing and treating restrictions, with specific techniques on bones, membranes and fasciae. The biodynamic approach favours listening to the system’s own dynamics, with an even subtler intervention. At Biosintesi the three levels cover biomechanics; biodynamics has a dedicated year-long path.
Can I take part if I trained at another school?
Yes. The advanced seminars are open to craniosacral practitioners and to those in training, including people coming from other schools, as well as to osteopaths, manual therapists and wellbeing professionals.
